Following on from the Beijing Championship, the tour’s next stop was a city I had never heard of before called Qinhuangdao. Qinhuangdao is located on the east coast of China about 4 hours drive from Beijing and the tournament course was called Poly Golf Qinhuangdao.
The course was a seaside course with a much more traditional look compared so some of the other resort courses the tour has played at so far this year.
I had a reasonable start with rounds of +1 and -2 to make it through to the weekend and could feel my game coming together.
Saturday I went out and played really solid shooting a very steady 4 under par with some really solid ball striking. Sunday was more of the same including a hole out eagle for my 2nd shot on the 15th hole and eventually finishing with a 5 under par 67. This saw me finish at -9 and a tie for 12th, giving me my best finish and first top 20 of the season on the PGA Tour China Series.
This is some good momentum to build off heading into the Nantong Championship next week starting on May 23rd through May 26th.
