ICTSI Riveira Classic

This week saw me take vans, ferries, planes, uber’s and taxi’s to get to from the island paradise of Moorea as well as an entire weekend crossing the date line to get all the way to Manila.

This event is being played on the Langer Course at the at the Riviera Country Club in Silang, Cavite.  The course was playing very firm and fast as there has been very little rain for around 4 months prior to this event.  The course is a very challenging test as the scores showed.

I started with rounds of 72 and 75 which saw me make the cut on the number despite nursing a bit of a cold after all of the travel and time zone jumping.  Playing at the back of the field on Friday off the 10th tee I put together a respectable even par 71 with a disappointing bogey, par, bogey finish which saw me move up into a tie for 29th with 1 one round left to play.  The final day can only be described as a day of agony and ecstasy.  With a round that had only 7 pars, 7 bogeys and 4 birdies, it was not without its opportunities but unfortunately finished with a 3 over par 74 and a tie for 25th.

Considering all the travel as well as the rebound after such an exhilarating week last week it was a pretty pleasing result.  I will certainly be looking to build on some of the work last week and putting it into practice at the ICSTI Manilla Southwoods Championship being played June 5th-8th at the Southwoods Country Club just south of Manilla.
