After my first week home for 5 weeks, it was great to know that I would be able to lay my head down in my own bed for a few weeks straight even though two of them would be working weeks.
Despite the long drive from my home to Twin Creeks Country Club, I was looking forward to spending time in my own car, home cooked meals and all the perks of being at home after so much time on the road this year.
I had one of good friends and assistant professional at Terrey Hills, Pete Thomas caddying for me so I felt it was going to be a good week. The course was presented in excellent condition with the greens rolling like billiard tables.
Unfortunately, my game was not quite there that week as I struggled with my ball striking the first day and managed to birdie 2 of my last 3 holes to shoot 1 over par, 73. I played better in the second round shooting a respectable 1 under par, 71 but unfortunately missing the halfway cut by 1 shot.
The next event would be the Australian Open played at the Lakes golf club the following week.
