After working on some of the lessons I took away From the Fiji International and a solid week of practice, my next stop was sunny Darwin. The Northern Territory PGA Championship was held at Palmerston golf club, just outside of Darwin City. Despite some extremely challenging weather for golf courses in the area, the staff at Palmerston did a fantastic job in how they presented the course.
After a solid couple of practice days, I felt good coming into the week and the first two rounds showed this with rounds of 67 and 68 (-4 and -3 respectively) which saw me 2 shots back going into the weekend. I had a great start to my 3rd round narrowly missing a putt on my 7th hole to go 5 under through 7 holes. The rest of the round was a bit of a struggle, eventually signing for a 1 under par 70.
In the final round I played really solid and turned in 4 under par through 9 holes and looking to make some more birdies on the back 9. Unfortunately the course didn’t give them up so easily and I finished with a steady -4, 67 to finish in a tie for 8th.
The tie 8th is a good momentum starter of this 4 week stint leading into web.com qschool which I hope to build on this week in Iloilo, Philippines.
