Th fourth and final leg of this arduous four week stretch was played at the Nick Faldo Course at the Eagle Ridge Country Club in Cavite, Philippines.
The field was faced with yet another long and challenging course that played very firm and quite windy. Being a Nick Faldo design the course demanded smart strategy and quality shot shaping to ensure the ball stayed on the fairways and greens.
After 3 rounds I was +7 and Tied for 10th place and playing reasonably well but unfortunately this was not to continue on the last day. With a combination of both physical and mental fatigue, I dropped several shots on the back 9 of the last round eventually signing for an 82 and finishing in a tie for 21st.
Upon some reflection and looking back over previous years playing schedules, I found that the last time I played 4 tournaments in a row was in 2012. All in all I am very pleased with this first stint of 4 events and strongly feel that I am learning more and more with each tournament that I play. Over the course of 4 events I hit a lot of quality shots with no shortage of silly errors resulting in some challenging scenarios with a lot of hard work pars. The main result for me is a further development of ‘tournament time’ and that I am continuing to refine my strategic, mental and physical approach to each tournament that I play.
I have very much enjoyed the last couple of days off and will be back into practice tomorrow with a week of pro ams down in the Riverina district of NSW coming up at the end of this week and all of next week.
