After the Queensland PGA, it was straight to the International Terminal in Brisbane and on a plane bound for Manila!
After missing out on playing status in Colombia, I had done some research into what else I could play in through the middle of the year when the Australian Tour enters its ‘off season’ with only 4 events between March and September. For me to have a goof foundation for Web.Com Qschool at the end of the year, I need more tournament experience.
So this week I was at the lovely Splendido Taal Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay, Philippines. The golf course is a Greg Norman design and in typical Norman fashion, the course is extremely intimidating off the tee with Out of Bound and/or hazard on every single hole. The views around the course are breathtaking to say the least as the course has been cut into ancient volcanic ridge lines.
I played really solid all week with round of 71, 69, 68 and 72 to miss out on a tournament victory by 1 shot and finished in a Tie for second place. This finish gives me access to all of the local Philippine Golf Tour events (12 events confirmed) plus some access to the larger PGT-Asia events. Between these two tours and the Australian events I am well on track to play at least 25 events this year.
