The first event of 2018 brings me to Auckland, New Zealand for the 2018 Rebel Sport NZ Masters played at a new course on the North side of Auckland called Wainui Golf Club. The course is playing quite firm off the tee and the fairways are narrow, so driving is at a premium.
Having just finished my morning round with a mid-field 2 over par, I leave myself with some work to do tomorrow to get myself back into contention.
This is the first running of this tournament and features a pro-am format over the weekend after the field is cut to top 50 and ties on Friday evening. Each player will draw 1 amateur to compete for the pro-am prize on offer. It’s great being back in NZ as it’s been a while since I was here last (I think the last time was for NZ Amateur in 2007!).
