I hope everyone had a great Christmas and wishing you all the best for 2018! Just prior to Christmas I played in the Final stage of the Australasian PGA Tour qualifying tournament at Moonah Links on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. I am pleased to say that I managed a 23rd place finish at the event which gives me a good playing status on the tour in Australia for the 2018 season.
I started with a strong start of 68 (-4) before the wind came up for the second day and I had to play very well to shoot 1 over par 73 to leave me in 6th place after two rounds. Unfortunately my game wasn’t quite as good the last two days in slightly easier conditions but I played well enough for rounds of 76 and 73 to get the job done and secure my playing rights on the Australian Tour for 2018. Unless there is victory I think I will always want to have done better in any event, however I was very pleased to go and get the job done I was aiming to do and achieve 90% of the goal I was after. I think if I continue to achieve 90% of my goal I will be moving in the right direction!
Next events coming up for me are the New Zealand Masters on the 11-14 January in Auckland followed by the PGA Tour LatinAmerica Qualifying Tournament in Bogota, Columbia 23-26 January. Check out my schedule page for all the details.
As this is being written on New Years Eve 2017 I just want to wish everyone a safe and happy new year for 2018 and hope that is a great one for all of us!
Have a great year out there Tim in 2018.
