NSW Open review

After the late call up into the NSW Open at the beautiful Twin Creeks Country Club, I was very pleased to have a solid week with rounds of 69, 70, 73 and 70 for a total of 6 under par.  This meant I finished in a tie for 43rd which I was more than pleased with after a significant time away from tournament golf.

I had a thought to myself as I teed off in the first round which was to think about the last tournament I had teed up in.  Though I have been playing some Tour qualifying rounds and Pro-Am events, I realised that the NSW Open was actually my first 4 round tournament for nearly three years! Whilst each of the rounds had its highlights and lowlights I was overall very pleased with this outcome which gave me a lot of confidence moving into the end of the year and Australasian Qschool in December.

Unfortunately I did not qualify for the Australian Open or the Australian PGA Championship.  I played well in both events but with only 3 spots available and a slightly cold putter it meant I was left to have that time to practice and play some pro ams in Sydney.  The highlight of these pro-ams was a 3rd place finish at the lovely Elanora Country Club which was in fantastic shape and setup very difficult.
